This side-event organized by the European Union�s Committee of the Regions will highlight the importance of a multi-level approach for environmental governance. It will showcase two major European initiatives: the European Green Capital and the Covenant of Mayors.
A key outcome of this side-event in relation to UNEP will be the official signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the EU Committee of the Regions and the United Nations Environment Programme.
