While it is not the responsibility of the United Nations to procure accommodation for the media, it should be noted that the Brazilian national organizing committee for Rio+20 has committed to blocking a minimum of 500 hotel rooms in Rio de Janeiro for media covering the conference. Event to launch the Transition to Sustainability: The Inclusive Wealth Report
Organizing partners: International Human Dimensions Programme on Global Environmental Change hosted by the United Nations University (UNU-IHDP) and United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)

Programme
The Inclusive Wealth Report 2012 will be officially launched at a side event hosted at the UNEP Pavilion.

The session will be opened by Achim Steiner, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and UNEP Executive Director and Professor Konrad Osterwalder, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and UNU Executive Director. Professor Sir Partha Dasgupta and Dr. Pablo Munoz will provide scientific background of inclusive wealth accounting and present the key findings of the Inclusive Wealth Report 2012.

The second half of the side event will feature a panel discussion on “Wealth Accounting in Practice –
a Science-Policy Perspective”.
