Youth with Disabilities and sustainable Development.

African Youth with Disabilities Network(AYWDN),International Federation of the Hard of Hearing Young People (IFHOHYP) and World Federation of the Deaf Youth Section(WFDYS).

Introduction

The side event will focus on raising awareness on the importance of involving young people with disabilities and other marginalized and vulnerable young populations in the social,economic and political development processes contributing to sustainable development of our countries,Countries , Continents and the world.It will share best practices of involving the marginalised and vulnerable Youth populations in the programmes and activities contributing to sustainable development.

Detailed programme

Institutional Framework for Sustainable development will be the thematic focus of this side event.We will have speakers from the three partners youth with disabilities organisations ,International Disability Alliance ,Global Partnership for Disability and Development and we are yet to confirm the participation of US state Department International Disability Rights advisor .The speakers will be provided later as we continue with the preparation and confirmation of this side event.

The potentional contribution to the outcome of UNCSD/RIO+20 from this side event will be the best practices strengthening the participation of marginalised and vulnerable Youth population within the Governance and institutional structures at all levels to contribute meaningfully to the sustainable development .

The side event will also contribute towards achieving inclusive sustainable development for all that addresses the challenges facing Youth with disabilities and other vulnerable populations.
