Rio+20 Collaborative Online Platform
The Getulio Vargas Foundation, through its Faculty of Law in Rio de Janeiro Brazil (FGV DIREITO RIO) and the Program in Law and the Environment (PDMA), has recently launched a website concerning the next World Summit on the Environment and Sustainable Development to be held in Rio de Janeiro in 2012 (Rio + 20).

The website is a forum designed to serve as a collaborative platform and will be hosting discussions in English and Portuguese. The purpose of the site is to promote scholarly debate on possible themes to be discussed during the Rio + 20 Conference.

The Forum has already embarked on its second phase. Join in debates and discussions that are shaping the dialogue on how themes from the upcoming Rio +20 Conference should be regulated on the national and international scales and identifying mechanisms that can ensure greater effectiveness in environmental protection. The debates are taking place in Portuguese and in English and will form the basis of recommendations to be presented at the end of the process.

The website can be accessed at . For more detailed information and institutional engagement please contact Prof. Carina Oliveira at
