A student of standard XII at the city-based DAV Public School, BSEB Colony, Shastrinagar, Rishabh Singh, has done Bihar proud, as he has been invited to the five-day United Nations International Youth Conference (UNIYC) to be held at Bandung, Indonesia, beginning September 27, as part of the Indian delegation.

"I received the formal invite on Thursday," said Singh, adding that the UNIYC would bring together 1,400 children and youths from member countries to discuss their role and inputs for the upcoming United Nations Conference on "Sustainable Development Rio+20" to be held at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, next year on June 5.

While the formal name of the UNIYC Bandung conference is Tunza International and Youth Conference (TIYC), its guiding slogan is 'Reshaping our future through a Green Economy and Sustainable Lifestyle.' "The conference will review the contribution of children and youth to the International Year of Forests. It will also discuss how they can adopt more environment-friendly lifestyles," Rishabh said.
