International Youth Strategy Meeting
The youth strategy meeting held from the 19-24 September 2011 was highly successful. It was a chance for youth to gather to exchange different approaches to mobilising young people and on ways to prepare for the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, known as ?Rio+20?.

Rio+20 is happening from the 4-6 June 2012 will be hugely significant as world leaders will review progress that has been made towards achieving sustainable development since the 1992 UN Conference on Sustainable Development and the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development. Its focus is the institutional framework, green economy, renewed political commitment, progress up to date and implementation gaps. It is therefore crucial that there is a strong youth presence. This requires international cooperation among youth. As youth are a demographic that are not as well funded as some others ?it means we need to work harder, more efficiently, creatively and be the most hard core if we are going to achieve change!

Rio+Twenties, Road to Rio+20 and the European Youth Forum met with young people from 70 different countries in Spain to begin working on the youth strategy for Rio+20, mobilise young people, exchange different approaches to the conference. and to improve the preparations that are already underway. They brainstorming on how to get young people more involved in the preparatory process, identified key players and also promoted participation in the process of a core strand of civil society.

We have selected a few great youth blogs that feature the preparations towards Rio+20 and include this event:
