Accommodation levels in Rio de Janeiro are anticipated to be at full occupancy during the conference. While it is not the responsibility of the United Nations to procure accommodation for the media, it should be noted that the Brazilian national organizing committee for Rio+20 has committed to blocking a minimum of 500 hotel rooms in Rio de Janeiro for media covering the conference. Join the Farmer List Serve
As organizing partners, the World Farmers Organisation will be very pleased to work with you heading into Rio+20. The modalities for participation are as follows:

1) Submission by November 1 ? written submissions from any group will be accepted until November 1 on the themes of:
a. The Green Economy
b. Institutional Reform of Sustainable Development Governance

The Farmers Major Group will be working together to prepare a submission and we will add international, regional, and national farm groups interested in following the Rio+20 process to a circulation list. Please send contact information (including web site details and e-mail) to robynne@robynneanderson.com to be added to the farmer list serve.

As well, the World Farmers Organisation will be preparing a draft for submission for its members. Farmer organisations are welcome to make a submission or to participate in the joint submissions. The UN is preparing a template and it will be sent to the list serve.

Other groups interested in supporting farmers can also indicate their interest and will be added to the "Friends of Farmers" list serve to encourage links between farmers and a wide array of civil society.

2) Regional Meetings ? The dates and location are not yet determined for all, but notices will be posted on the Rio site and will be sent to the list serve.

3) December Intersessional ? an Intersessional meeting will be held in New York to prepare for Rio +20

4) Side events ? at the various meetings, there will be an opportunity to hold side events. If farm organisations would like to host one, the organising partner can assist you in the application process. Please contact robynne@robynneanderson.com

5) Web site ? this farmers section in the Rio +20 web site has space for news, events, and case studies. We are happy to load that material for international, regional and national farm groups. Please forward to robynne@robynneanderson.com.

6) Rio +20 ? Being held in Brazil in June 2012, farm groups wanting to send participants as part of the farmers delegation should contact robynne@robynneanderson.com and I will be happy to assist with registration arrangements to the best of my ability. Availability of funding for travel may be limited and has not yet been disclosed. Please be prepared to cover your own travel costs
