Negotiating Climate Change: from Durban and beyond

Climate Change is one of the most controversial issues of the 21st century and is increasingly becoming a central issue in multilateral negotiations. This course will provide participants with the necessary training and skills to successfully participate in international negotiations, public sector work, and diplomatic engagement related to climate change. By building an appreciation of the science, causes and impacts of climate change, it is therefore also an ideal preparatory course for the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development - Rio+20 with its theme ?green economy?. The course will also consider the pertinent challenges currently facing diplomats and international decision makers in making progress with what is currently on the negotiating table.
