Hotels for Press
Accommodation levels in Rio de Janeiro are anticipated to be at full occupancy during the conference. While it is not the responsibility of the United Nations to procure accommodation for the media, it should be noted that the Brazilian national organizing committee for Rio+20 has committed to blocking a minimum of 500 hotel rooms in Rio de Janeiro for media covering the conference. Side Events and Parallel Events
Side events sponsored by Governments, Major Groups, UN system and other Inter-Governmental Organizations will be organized during Prepcom III and UNCSD for sharing experiences and providing alternative opportunities for dialogue.
The side events will take place in the official venue of the UNCSD and will be coordinated by the UNCSD Secretariat.
In addition to the side events there will be an opportunity for stakeholders to organize related activities ? parallel events - in various venues in the City of Rio de Janeiro.
More information regarding side events in the UNCSD official venue, including criteria and guidelines for organizers, will be posted on this website in the near future. Information regarding arrangements for parallel events including a hyperlink for applications for parallel event space will follow suit.
