World Education Forum - Capitalist Crisis, Social Justice and Environment
Between the 24th and 29th January will take place in Porto Alegre, Brazil, the World Education Forum - Capitalist Crisis, Social Justice and Environment, which was elaborated from the Thematic Social Forum. The event is a response to the call of the Brazilian Civil Society Facilitator Committee, which urged civil society, organizations and social movements from all over the world to participate in the preparatory process for the People's Summit for Sustainable Development - Rio +20 (parallel event to the Conference that will give voice to the third sector).

Thereby, in this edition of 2012, the World Social Forum will focus primarily on the topics that will be on the agenda at Rio +20. In order to achieve a successful approach of Rio+20, about two months ago, the staff of the Forum started researching and preparing documents to organize a working group about education for Rio +20 that is going to happen in 25th and 26th afternoons.

The major goal of the Forum is to foster debate, bringing together the different social sectors of the educational community and civil society organizations, to develop solutions or alternatives for the sustainability issues and for other important issues concerning a more just society.

Anyone interested can attend the Forum, even if not part of any organization or movement. Just register on the discussion platform created by the Organizing Committee of Forum 2012.
