Accommodation levels in Rio de Janeiro are anticipated to be at full occupancy during the conference. While it is not the responsibility of the United Nations to procure accommodation for the media, it should be noted that the Brazilian national organizing committee for Rio+20 has committed to blocking a minimum of 500 hotel rooms in Rio de Janeiro for media covering the conference. African Youth Funding provided by Germany for Rio+20
On behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), we are happy to announce two funded places for African youth representation at Rio+20.

Germany are committed to youth participation in the CSD processes and promote active participation of young people in Sustainable Development policy advocacy. Apart from their two official youth delegates, they annually fund two African youth to engage actively and participate in the CSD process.

Two selected African youth representatives will receive full funding to cover return ticket to Rio de Janeiro, accommodation and daily subsistence from 10 June until 22 June 2012 in order to take part in the following Rio+20 events:

* Youth Blast: 10-12 June 2012 (http://uncsdchildrenyouth.org/rio20/youth-blast/)
* 3rd Preparatory Committee: 13-15 June 2012
* Four Days of Dialogue on Sustainable Development: 16-19 June 2012
* Rio+ 20 Conference: 20-22 June 2012
