Speed Brokering for Partnerships: scaling-up and replicating best practices in sustainable development
21 Jun 2012
3:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Pavilion T (Major Groups Pavilion) - Room T-3

This dynamic session will provide a unique opportunity for speed networking for 72 senior-level participants. The session will focus on three thematic clusters: energy, sustainable cities, and water. Financiers, governments, international organizations, major groups representatives, and key leaders will be able to forge strategic contacts with sustainable development partnerships and other stakeholders. Partnerships will be provided with potential avenues for scaling-up and replicating their initiatives.

This is a pre-registered event.
* A unique speed networking session limited to 72 senior-level participants
* An opportunity for financiers, governments, international organizations, major groups representatives and key leaders to forge strategic contacts with sustainable development Partnerships and other stakeholders
* A way for Partnerships to make contacts for scale up and replication
* Three thematic clusters: energy, sustainable cities and water

How does it work?
* Speed brokering is an accelerated and structured way of business networking. During the session, each participant will have a personalized schedule of 12 quick face-to-face conversations of 5-7 minutes each, based on indication of interests provided in an online pre-registration process.
* A moderator directs the event and a buzzer signals when it is time for participants to move on to the next conversation. Towards the end of the session, an informal time over refreshments will enable continued networking with new contacts and the forging opportunities for new collaboration.

Who can participate?
The organizers aim to bring a balanced mix of senior-level representatives from Partnerships together with prominent figures from the business and finance community, governments and major groups ? all connected with the key themes of energy, sustainable cities and water.

How can I express interest and pre-register?
Please fill out a statement of interest by close of day on 23rd May 2012 using this website link:

As a potential participant, you will be asked to give basic information about the areas of your interest and expertise, as well as about the kind of contacts you would like to make at the session. The organizers will kindly ask for the nomination of just one senior level representative per organization, and an alternate in the event of your inability to attend. Due to space constrains at the venue, the emphasis will be placed on ensuring a balanced representation of pre-registered private sector, public sector, major groups and Partnership participants.

When do I know if my organization is registered for the event?
By the end of May, an email from the organizers will be sent to confirm whether or not we are able to offer you a slot. (A day-specific Rio+20 conference accreditation can be arranged if you do not have access).
Each pre-registered participant will have a customized networking schedule. This is a pre-registered event.
