Given the importance of forest zones to sustainable development and poverty relief, the Mesoamerican Alliance of Peoples and Forests (AMPB), has organized a debate named “Communitarian forest management to assure Sustainable Development”, in which the experiences of Mesoamerican indigenous and forest zone communities will be shared.
The panel will debate about the role of woodlands in sustainable development. This dialogue will highlight crucial topics that illustrate the importance of community management of woodlands in the fight against poverty and global warming. It will also make recommendations for reflection in Rio+20.
