The Second Committee will hold a panel discussion on ?Means of Implementation for Sustainable Development? on Tuesday, 25 October 2011, from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Economic and Social Council Chamber (NLB). The panel discussion will be chaired and moderated by H.E. Mr. Abulkalam Abdul Momen (Bangladesh), Chair of the Committee. The keynote speaker will be Mr. Maurice Strong, the first Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Secretary General of both the 1972 Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment and the 1992 Rio Earth Summit. Panellists include Mr. Christopher Flensborg, SEB Bank; Professor Dalindyebo Shabalala, Maastricht University, the Netherlands; Dr. Hugh Sealy, St. George's University, Grenada, Mr. Jimmiel Mandima, Director, Program Design Policy, African Wildlife Foundation; and Ms. Judith Moore, the World Bank.

The event is organized by the Division for Sustainable Development, Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA).
