The meeting in Belgrade will enable the countries of the Adriatic-Ionian region to present their previous and planned activities of transition to the green economy, in the light of the preparations for the upcoming Summit on Sustainable Development. In addition, new possibilities for cooperation between the countries will be discussed, as well as their joint presentation of activities in this field through regional initiatives and processes, as exemplified by the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative.

It is our intention to present the conclusions of this regional meeting at the forthcoming World Summit Rio+20 in June this year, in the form of the special Side Event, as a unique contribution of the Adriatic-Ionian region.
