The social and environmental sustainability performance of UNDP programming and operations is strengthened; thereby enhancing the sustainability and achievement of results including minimizing the environmental footprint from UNDP global operations with the target of climate-neutral operations.

Increasing institutional accountability for social and environmental sustainability of UNDP programming and operations by strengthening sustainability requirements in internal policies and procedures. Revising UNDP operational frameworks and policies to incorporate environmental considerations, through systematic screening of UNDP facilities and vehicle fleets for greening opportunities. Internal capacity building, knowledge sharing, technical support and awareness-raising. Supporting the further development and implementation of the “Framework for Advancing the Environmental and Social Sustainability in the United Nations System,” including by exchanging experiences with other UN agencies to facilitate institutional learning.
