Achievement of Commitment
Action plans to be implemented by AgroSup Dijon concern the “Climate Plan” of the Greater Dijon area and include:
Renovation of AgroSup buildings to achieve substantial energy savings;
Replacement of the old vehicles owned by AgroSup to reduce CO2 emissions;
Training of students and staff to know the best practices related to energy and climate issues;
Identification of existing policy research or transfer at AgroSup Dijon that reduce greenhouse gas emissions or promote renewable energy production.
How this will be achieved
AgroSup Dijon is currently the coordinator of an Erasmus Networks project entitled I.S.L.E : « Innovation in the teaching of Sustainable Development in Life sciences in Europe » financed by the Executive Agency in Brussels.
The I.S.L.E network involves 39 partners (HEI’s, Research institutes, NGO’s and enterprises) from 30 European countries interested in introducing the concept of Sustainable Development in their curricula and institutions having had experience in this area and who are willing to transmit their know-how on this subject.
In order to implement the concept of Sustainable Development in Higher Education programs, the total implication of Management and Faculty members is necessary including : changes to general organisation, to course content, to individual and collective behaviours, creation of new pedagogical tools, transversal approach, consultation and partnership with the civil society
