- Fund for Protection of Water
Fund for Protection of Water (FONAG) was established in 2000 as a trust fund into which water users in Quito, Ecuador, could contribute to support watershed conservation and management activities to protect and enhance the urban water supply. Since its creation, over ten other water funds have been or are being established in the region as well as in Peru and Mexico. - Fund for the Protection of Water (FONAG)
The Fund for the Protection of Water -FONAG- is a private mercantile trust which has operated since January 2000 and is regulated by the Securities Market Law. - The National Environmental Policy
Approved in December 2009, the national environmental policy of Ecuador is based on three main areas: institutional management of environmental issues, consideration of the physical limits of ecosystems and social participation.
